Zoumana Kéita is the president of Assa Construction Services and has over 20 years of experience in the industry. He is an established general contractor who oversees the entire construction process. His company responds to commercial, residential, and public infrastructure RFOs for building and renovation projects.

Having immigrated to the U.S. from Abidjan,Côte d’Ivoire, Mr. Kéita was fascinated by the proficiency and speed offered by American construction companies and he wished to apply this technology to address the urgent housing deficit in his country of origin. After working for several electrical and construction companies in the United States, he decided to once again become an entrepreneur and created his own bi-continental company, Assa Construction Services. In West Africa, Assa Construction uses American models and machinery adapted to local materials to build homes that are resistant to heat and earthquakes, reducing the average construction time and providing more housing options. Due to these innovations, his company received contracts to build 20,000 houses in Ghana in 2018 and 10,000 houses in Côte d’Ivoire in 2019.

Mr. Kéita started his career in 1989 as a project manager for SAFTEL, an industrial telecommunications firm serving clients in West Africa. While in Guinea, he decided to start his own telecommunications company, ZOOM Electronics. He then worked for numerous construction firms in Africa and the United States, including Union Electric.

As the president of Assa Construction, he has developed strong partnerships and collaboration agreements with U.S. and African partners, including public agencies, and the governments of Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana, Ethiopia, Turkey, Congo RDC , Guinee, Etc.

Mr. Kéita holds a bachelor’s degree in electronics and telecommunications from the EURELEC Technical and Professional school of Abidjan and a certificate in telecommunications from Thompson Education in Pennsylvania. He was selected for the 2014 Top 100 Minority Business Enterprise Award by the city of Baltimore for his outstanding achievements in client satisfaction, business development, and community involvement.
